새 정부 새 대통령
Trackback to 두 온 일흔 다섯. 새 정부에 저주를 퍼붓는 사람들의 심리상태
왜 사람들이 그렇게 이 나라 망했다고 아우성치고 있을까. 사실 아우성치는 사람들도 아주 소수다. 기껏해야 인터넷에서나, 그것도 좁디좁은 블로그판에서나 볼 수 있는 일이기 때문에, 사실 무시하고 그냥 제 할일 하면서 살아도 별 문제 없다.
뭐 (그래도 일단은 트랙백을 했으니 좀 더 쓰자면) 우선 그렇게 이야기하는 사람에도 여러가지 종류가 있을텐데, 아마 그 중 가장 숫자가 많은 건 인터넷에서 심심하면 볼 수 있는, 네가 때리니까 나도 때린다 하는 부류들이 있을 거다. 이명박이라면 (혹은 노무현이라면) 덮어놓고 욕리플부터 다는 사람들, 평소에는 관심도 없다가 갑자기 우리나라 핸드볼계에 대한 지원의 열악함과 프로야구판의 허접함에 대해서 전문가가 되는 사람들 같은 부류 말이다. 이런 사람들은 답이 없다.
그리고 위 부류에 해당하는 사람들을 자극하기 위해서는 그런 부류들의 귀감 (단어 선택이 안 좋지만 넘어가자) 이 될만한 사람들이 필요할텐데, 그 사람들마저도 왜 그렇게 덮어놓고 (이 케이스에 한정하자면) 이명박이 대통령이 되었으니 나라가 망할거라고 소리치고 있느냐 하면, 그 이유는 여지껏 계속 쉴새없이 떠들어왔는데도 변하는 게 없어서 이제 지쳐빠져서. 어떻다 어떻다 일일이 설명하기조차 이제는 버겁고 지겨워서 그런 거 아닐까 생각한다. (어쩌면 다시 설명하기 귀찮아서일지도 모르지만, 어쨌건간에.)
뭐 저런 이유로 이해할 수 있을 법도 하고.
근데, 사실 인터넷에서 몇 마디 떠든다는 것만으로는 사회가 바뀔 리가 없고 (솔까말 지난 대선때 한 10초정도 문국현이 대통령이 되지 않을까, 내지는 2위쯤 하지 않을까 잠깐 착각한 적 있다), 설령 밖에 나가서 시위를 하건 운동을 하건, 자기 눈에 보이게 내일 당장, 혹은 다음 주에 당장 세상이 훌쩍 변하고 뒤집힐거라고 생각하는 거 자체가 좀 나이브한 생각이 아닐까. 막말로 말해서, 자신들이 갖고 있는 것에 심각한 위협이 되지 않는바에야 사회를 바꿀 수 있는 위치에 있는, 즉 권력과 금력과 인력 기타 등등의 각종 힘을 가진 사람들이 사회를 바꾸려는 행동을 할 리가 없다. 아쉬운게 없는데 왜. 그런 사람들을 폭력으로 제압하고 사회를 뒤집어엎는 것을 목표로 하지 않는 이상, 결국 세상을 바꾸기를 원하는 사람들이 쓸 수 있는 무기는 끝없는 인내심과 노력밖에는 없다.
세상이 그렇게 변해가야 한다는 것과, 그 세상에 자기가 살고 싶다, 아니 내가 사는 세상이 그런 세상이어야 한다는 생각은 아주 다르다. 후자에 사로잡혀 있는 사람에게도 좀 답이 없고, 그나마 전자에 속할 수 있는 사람이라면, 내가 설령 그런 세상에 살지 못하더라도 그런 세상을 위해서 '꾸준히' 노력해야만 무언가 바뀔 건덕지가 있다는 점을 알아야 하지 않을까.
